Information for Higher Education

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that schools should keep in mind the potential mobility, size and diversity of its students and staff, location and physical parameters, as well as the healthcare services that exist on campus when making health situation decisions for the campus community. Schools should be mindful of keeping a balance between the welfare of the students and staff, and minimizing educational and social disruption.

The CDC recommendations include strategies for two scenarios

  1. flu outbreak severity similar to Spring/Summer 2009, and
  2. additional suggestions if H1N1 increases in severity.
